Where to wash car in Cyberjaya

Most Malaysians own at least 1 car and therefore having our car washed regularly is a real need.

In areas like Puchong, PJ , Subang it is easy to find car wash places doing brisk business during the weekends. You can easily find car wash businesses just around the corner of any commercial shops.

In Cyberjaya, I only know 4 places where you can get your car washed and waxed.

1) Zul Car Wash at Prima Avenue (same area as CIMB and Maybank and Starbucks)

2) CARs International at D'Pulze Shopping Mall (at the basement parking)

3) C & Z Car Wash at Prima 11 (same area as Burger King)

4) Bubbles Car Wash at Jalan Autoville 1. 2 Storey shop.

Cyberjaya Food Review Mamak Place at Menara Paragon

This restaurant called Mamak Place at Menara Paragon enjoys good crowd due to the close proximity to Multimedia University.

The named is called Mamak Place but the persons manning the cash register and waiters seem to be of middle eastern origin.

There's free WiFi here, you need to inquire for the password from the waiter.

I ordered their milk watermelon drink which is actually water melon juice mixed with condensed milk. I was quite relieved that it wasn't too sweet and normally a very similar drink called sirap bandung (rose syrup mixed with condensed milk) usually comes out excessively sweet.

For my main dish I ordered their garlic naan. It was kind of a disappointment as there was only 1 single dhall sauce given. The bread lacked fluffiness and the charred marks.

The decor of the place was ok, glass walls on the side make the place looks much spacious than a normal intermediate shop.

Cyberjaya Food Review - Hanamaru Udon at D'Pulze

Today I returned back to D'pulze Shopping Mall in Cyberjaya to shop for more stuff and I decided to try out Hanamaru Udon which is in the same premise as Yoshinoya.

Hanamaru Udon  serves Japanese udon noodles, specifically Sanuki udon. Sanuki udon is characterized by thick white square shape and flat edges.I noticed all the noodles portions were already pre layed out. The server just takes the bunch of noodles and then cooks it in the boiling water.

All the ingredients were also prepared already. The beef slices were already sliced and put into a container. Each container contains portions that is enough for a single person's meal.

The noodles I ordered was topped with finely slice beef strips and garnished with spring onions. The meal was served with the Japanese 3 min egg. The 3 min egg is characterized by its very soft yolk but with firm whites. It is typically cooked for 3 mins and then shocked with ice to stop the cooking process to make the running yolk (egg yellow). The meal was drenched in Japanese soy sauce. This dish had a slight Malaysian twist to it in that sambal belacan (the ones you get when served prawn noodles) was also used as the toppings.

Overall I found the meal to be satisfying good. My only regret was the portions were a bit small. I ordered a regular size serving but they also got large size servings. The noodles were springy yet firm, a characteristic of good noodles, eggs were done perfectly.

The lauchpad co-working space pricing opposite Shaftsbury Square

Instead of renting spaces, co-working spaces would be a more economical option for startups working on a limited budget.

The Launch Pad is a co-working space company located in Cyberjaya. Besides renting out spaces, they occasional have events where guest speakers are invited to talks regarding startup tech and entrepreneurship.

Cyberjaya Food Review - Yoshinoya at D'Pulze

It was a hot Sunday afternoon and I had to find a hardware shop to buy some plumbing parts to fix some issues in my unit.

I headed to D'Pulze MrDIY outlet to purchase the parts I needed and after that I need decided to take a quick lunch at Yoshinoya (located at the same floor). Yoshinoya is a Japanese franchise specializing in gyudon. Gyudon is basically a beef slices served with rice in a single bowl.

It seems like the owners of Malaysia Yoshinoya franchise created 2 franchise stores in 1 single unit. On one side is the original Yoshinoya while the other side is Hanamaru Udon. Hanamaru Udon is also another franchise originated from Japan.

First time I see 2 franchise brands housed side by side to each other in a single space. It's actually 2 separate shopping lots in the mall but the franchise owner removed the separating wall to join up the 2 franchise brands.

The price display system is very clear, modern and captivating.

The original Yoshinoya style stores still remain.

I ordered the traditional Gyudon set which comes with miso soup and free flow of drinks. The gyudon set is topped with a soft poached egg.

The Haranaru Udon franchise focuses on serving sanuki udon.

Drinks are all free flow with hot or cold green tea with sirap bandung

There's also a stall inside serving ice shaving desserts.

To get to this place just visit D'Pulze mall, go to the top floor where TGV and the bowling alley is located, it won't be hard to find.

Cyberjaya Food Review : It's a Grind Coffee House at Prima Avenue

Today I needed a slight change in environment so headed out to this cafe called It's a grind at Prima Avenue. Prima Avenue's main landmark is the big Burger King signboard.

There is ample parking spaces around the premises. The cafe looks well decorated with the correct lightnings. I noticed all the coffee machines were branded and very high end units. No expense was spared in the interior design, everything seems very immaculately planned.

This place is a good place to hang out until midnight. Staff were friendly and service was good.

They serve cakes and muffins. Too full at that time so did not managed to test out the food.

Comfortable and wide sofas, almost like designed for couple seating.

There's 2 counters in the shop, 1 counter to take order and payment and the other counter to collect your order. This is great from hygiene perspective because the payment counter is separated from the area where the food and drinks are prepared.

I ordered a hot chocolate as I just wanted to chill and brainstorm on my work

This place opens until midnight 12AM.
Prices were standard cafe prices.

The next growth phase of Cyberjaya

The prime minister today announced not 10 but 11 big projects coming to Cyberjaya. Hopefully this will be the catalyst to the next growth phase of Cyberjaya.

1. Development of Asia Big Data Centre - Cyberview and China's Guangzhou Winhong IT Corp

2. Creation of Regional Fintech Hub - Cyberview and China's Beijing Fullrich IT Co Ltd

The arrival of many chinese companies in Malaysia would draw China based IT companies to set up shop in Malaysia. Just like the Japanese, it is understood that Chinese companies would prefer to source from their own country companies. Eg. I once worked in a Japanese company and they insists employee to use Fujitsu laptops.

3. Futurise Centre - a collaboration between Cyberview and Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC) + Multimedia University, United Nations Technology Innovation
Lab, Microsoft HoloLens and China's Tsinghua University

4. Cyberjaya City Centre Phase I - convention centre and hotel
Work on this project has already started along the stretch of the road leading to Cyberjaya. Seems like they are rushing to complete it as I see workers working at night also at the site.

5. Cyberjaya Hospital (government)
This item is long awaited. I got some sketches from the Internet on the proposed interiors.

6. Cyberjaya Cashless Society - pay using your mobile phone for anything anywhere in Cyberjaya - oBike Malaysia, Mastercard, PrimeKeeper, Billplz, LuxTag and Mobike.

7. Cyberjaya Scholarship Program - Cyberview and Limkokwing University of Creative Technology
This is bring more students to study in Cyberjaya.

8. VADS Klang Valley Core Data Centre
VADS will probably shift their data center from TTDI to Cyberjaya, then they can unlock the value of the Menara VADS.

9. CBJ4Annex by NTT MSC Malaysia (expansion)
This probably is an expansion of NTT's data center operations

10. Sensor Applications Innovation Centre (SONIC) by Ingeniworks Sdn Bhd
There's not much information about this item but it probably is building some sort of IOT (internet of things) devices related to sensors.

11. 1GBps broadband by Setia Haruman Tech
This broadband service would most likely be similiar to Google Fiber service in US which can reach blazing speeds of 1Gbps. Most likely this service would be delivered via Setia Haruman's broadband subsidiary City Broadband. http://www.citybroadband.my/. My hope is the price has to be affordable for the common person as it is no use having such high speeds that is only catered to the affluent.

Update :  1Gpbs superfast broadband is available for homes at RM399/month and offices for RM3499/month
